Re: Can you get Bisquick in New Zealand
Posted by: Marnie Date: November 9, 2010 02:38AM Several weeks ago I was watching Laurel Watson on The Good Morning Show making something that had Bisquick in the recipe and she suggested a NZ alternative. I could be wrong, but I thought she said it was Baking Mix. Maybe someone else could confirm that. Now here's the rub, I am not even sure whether that is still available. But I did find a recipe for the same baking mix that had been published in the NZ Women's Weekly about 20 years ago!! I have taken a note of it and if you need it then I can send it to you. |

Re: Can you get Bisquick in New Zealand
Posted by: Deb Beardsley Date: November 11, 2010 10:00AM I often came across recipes that called for Bisquick and found this one about 15-20 years ago that works brilliantly and is just the same as Biquick. 10 cups flour 5 Tbs skim milk powder 4 Tbs Baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 150g grated butter Sift flour, baking powder and salt 3 times. Rub in grated butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs Store in a tin with a tight fitting lid in the fridge. makes 12 cups of mix. Also used Alison Holsts baking mix with success as well. |
