Slow Cooker 4 1/2 Cup Chicken

Left over cooking liquid can be frozen and used again at a later date.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup rice wine (or sherry)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 star anise
  • 1.6 kg chicken

Method

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on high for 5 hours, turning the chicken over half way through cooking.
