Spiced French Toast with Grilled Fruit

Lightly whisk the milk and eggs together. Pour into a shallow dish.
Heat a large frying pan over a medium heat and add enough butter to give a film across the pan.
Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture and pan fry in batches until golden on both sides.
Remove from the pan and serve dusted with combined cinnamon and sugar, grilled fruit on the side and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Peaches, nectarines, pears and apples can all be used. Either brush with oil and cook under the grill or good on a ridged griddle pan or barbecue.
