This is cooked in 2 minutes and has fabulous flavour.
Serve alongside other Asian inspired dishes or bbq meats.
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon flavourless oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon crisp fried shallots
If the asparagus are medium to thick spears then cut in half lengthways, if skinny then leave as is.
Snap off the base where the spear naturally bends.
Heat the oils in a wok or frying pan over a hight heat.
When the pan is sizzling hot then add the asparagus and cook for 1 minute, turning at times.
Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook a further 30 seconds before adding the rice wine, soy and water. Cook a further 30 seconds before removing from the heat.
Serve the asparagus sprinkled with crisp fried shallots.
