Yield: Makes 10
Ingredients
- 4 cups highgrade flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 4 tablespoons oil (rice bran or another neutral flavoured oil)
- 1 1/4 cups luke warm milk
Method
Combine the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl.
Make a well in the centre and pour in oil and milk. Mix to a soft dough and then tip out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 minute until the dough comes together.
Divide the dough into 10 balls and roll out into flat discs approximately 20cm in diameter.
Heat a heavy based frying pan over a medium – high heat and cook the tortillas one at a time until they start to colour and blister on both sides.
Does the recipy have milk or water in it? The ingredient list has milk but the method has water.
Thanks
loved this recipe, we were out of bread and made them with the kids…although I would not do while I am camping or away….I do not take a rolling pin with me in my bag. lol
in lieu of a rolling pin how about a wine, beer or water bottle?
well… obviously you just need a better sized bag to cater for it .. and what about safety?… a wooden rolling pin just might come in handy in the middle of no where :-)
Am guessing the recipe should read pour in milk rather than pour in water as there is no water listed in recipe! Am trying these tonight!
These are fabulous!
