Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons golden syrup
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- 1 teaspoon cocoa
- 75g butter
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 3/4 cups flour
Method
Preheat oven to 180 C. Gently melt syrups, sugar, water, spices and cocoa in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring well. Remove from heat, add butter and baking soda. Add enough sifted flour to make a firm dough. Sit aside to cool. Roll out dough and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake for 12-15 minutes until biscuits are firm. Allow to cool and then decorate with icing.

I really would like to try this recipe, but I don’t have golden syrup and I don’t know what is it? Can I use honey instead ?
