Easy Fruit Loaf

If desired you can substitute 1/2 cup of orange juice for brandy.


  • 1 kg dried mixed fruit
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice (eg Charlies or Arano)
  • 2 cups self raising flour


Place fruit and orange juice in a non metal bowl and leave to soak over night.
Preheat oven to 175 C
Mix fruit and flour together and pour into a greased loaf pan. Cook for 2 hours.

  1. I split this into two 10″ by 4″ approx. loaf tins as it was such a big mixture. Not only is it the easiest fruit loaf I have ever made, it is by far the nicest, and extremely healthy!

  2. I have made this loaf many times and it is fabulous!
    No sugar no butter
    So quick and easy and it tastes lovely.Buttered or unbuttered.
    It is great for people who are diet concious.
    My friend was actually given the recipe by her Diabetic clinic.
