Mum's Christmas Trifle

  • 1 slab plain sponge
  • 2 tablespoons berry jam
  • 1/2 – 1 cup sherry
  • 2 cups jelly
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped fruit (fresh or tinned)
  • 2 cups custard


Spread sponge with jam. Place sponge into serving dish/bowl. Pour the sherry over. Pour over cooled jelly. Top with fruit of choice. Spread with enough custard to cover. Decorate with cream or whatever you desire. Place in fridge to chill and set.
