Cheese Straws

  • 100g butter
  • 100g flour
  • salt
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 100g grated tasty cheddar cheese (about 1 cup)


Process butter and flour in a food processor until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add salt to taste, mustard and cheese, process until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and chill for an hour. Roll pastry to .5 cm thick and cut into straws. Place on a lined baking tray and bake in a preheated oven 200C until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack and store in an air tight container.
