Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- pinch of salt
- 350 g sugar
- 1/2 packet Greggs jelly crystals (flavour of choice)
- 6 teaspoons cornflour
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 2 tseaspoons vanilla essence
- 6 tablespoons water
Method
Preheat oven to 180 C.
Beat egg whites and salt until peaks form. Add sugar and beat for 4 minutes. Add jelly crystals, cornflour, vinegar and vanilla essence and continue to mix. With mixer going add water 1 tablespoon at a time.
Pile pavlova onto a lined tray and bake until colour changes slightly on the outside. Reduce the heat to 150 and continue to cook for 35 minutes. Turn the oven off and leave in the oven until completely cold.
