Thanks to Deb for sharing this delicious recipe.

Yield: 35

  • 125g white chocolate
  • 125g white chocolate melts
  • 1 cup malted milk powder (Horlicks in supermarkets)
  • 200g milk chocolate

Melt the white chocolates and milk powder together in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water.  Stir until smooth.  Set aside and allow to cool until firm enough to shape into small balls.  Refrigerate until firm.
Melt the dark chocolate and dip the white chocolate balls in until well coated.  Set aside on a foil lined board to set.  Store in a cool, dark place.

  1. I made them for the first time last year. I thought I would add some rice bubbles this year so that they were a little less firm.

  2. So very easy to make but I think next time I will melt the chocolate before adding the Horlicks. I wonder if we could add Bailey’s or coffee liqueur as a way of a change, might be nice wouldn’t be malt then though would it?

  3. Yes, I find that regular white chocolate has great flavour but not as good at melting as melts so therefore combine the two and it seems to happen easier.

  4. Sounds delicious – why the two types of chocolate – is that because the melts melt easier than standard white chocolate?
