- 1 tablespoons golden syrup

- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup bran flakes
- 1 cup wholemeal flour
- ½ teaspoon sucaryl liquid

- ½ cup sultanas
- ½ cup chopped dried apricots
- 1 mashed ripe banana
Method
Preheat oven to 200 C Heat golden syrup and water slightly and add milk. Add baking soda and stir. Add vanilla, sucaryl, oil and beat in the egg lightly. Put flour and bran in a bowl and make a well, lightly mix in the liquid ingredients and then the fruit. Pour spoonfuls into muffins tins and bake for 12 minutes or until golden and springy.
