Overnight Plum Pudding.

This makes a lovely dark pudding and you would not know there was so little fruit in it.
Serves 6-8.


  • 2 teacups flour
  • 1 teacup sugar
  • 1 teacup currants
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons shreddo
  • 2 cups boiling water.


Mix shreddo and soda with boiling water, add to mixed dry ingredients and fruit combining well together.
Cover with a cloth and let stand overnight.
Next day put into a greased steam pudding basin cover and steam 4 hours.
