KarenThis recipe can be made ahead of time and heated through when needed. It also is easy to make a double batch, just don`t double the salt.
Ingredients
- 800g cooked Agria potatoes, sliced (cook the potatoes in lightly salted water)
- 50 g butter,
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large onion, or 2 med onions chopped
- 2 cups milk
- 1 heaped cup grated tasty cheese
Method
Preheat oven to 180 C.
Melt the butter in a large frying pan and add onions, cook over a med – high heat for 10-15 minutes until the onions soften and change colour but don’t allow them to catch or burn.
Add flour, mustard and salt and cook for 1 minute stirring. Add the milk and mix until the sauce is smooth and the suace boils and thickens. Remove from the heat. Add cheese and stir until melted.
Lightly grease an oven proof dish, slice the potatoes in layers, and evenly por over the cheese sauce. Cook in a pre heated oven approx 20 – 30 minutes until top is golden.
