Auckland:- Through popular demand Katherine is returning to Artisan Wines, Oratia, Auckland for a Cheese Making Demonstration in late January. If you are looking to gift someone a fabulous learning experience for Christmas or other special occasion then be quick to secure a seat.
Taranaki:- Katherine will be returning to Taranaki in June 2012 for another burst of cheese making down here but in the meantime, I am now available for fresh cheese workshops using the Mad Millie Cheese equipment which I have found to be exactly what you need to take you to the next step of making your own cheese! BEES: A Top Bar Beekeeping workshop will be held on Saturday 19th November from 10am-4pm in Taranaki
Marcia Meehan is a beekeeper and horticulturist and will provide her expertise on all aspects of keeping bees in this special type of bee-friendly hive. The course will include: essential elements of hive design and construction, how to start a hive using swarms and nucs, seasonal management of a top bar hive, comb handling and inspection, mite and diseases control options, solving early problems. Learn the basics of starting, inspecting and maintaining a healthy colony, and steps to extract the honey from the comb.

Thank goodness the RWC is over and we can now focus on other things such as new season asparagus, fresh strawberries and if you are extremely lucky – fresh whitebait.
A recent trip to Hokitika meant we got to witness our whitebait being caught and then turned into light and fluffy whitebait patties that night!
We have some great new features ideas coming up with parties and Christmas fun an absolute priority.
